KLC Public Interest Fellowship

After completing a course at Kingsford Legal Centre, or finishing a law degree at UNSW, many students want to work in public interest or human rights law.  But they don’t know how to take that first step and they face the barrier of getting their first job in public interest law.

Without legal experience it’s really hard to start a public interest law career. For years now KLC has wanted to provide the bridge for some of the incredibly bright, passionate, dedicated and smart young lawyers we work with to start their social justice focussed careers. We want to offer them a chance to get their first 12 months experience in a high quality, well functioning community legal centre: Kingsford Legal Centre. We know about teaching students about the law and the legal system, and we are great at supervising new lawyers too.

To achieve this we need your help to fund it. We aim to raise $90,000 to fund a 12 month fellowship position annually.

Your contribution will make all the difference to supporting our next generation of public interest lawyers, so please give generously now through our secure payment system here.
